FACTs, Not Just Words

In an industrial environment increasingly defined by complexity, efficiency demands, and growing sustainability requirements, choosing the right technology partner is no longer just a technical decision — it is a strategic one.

At BASQUE AUTOMATION, part of LARRAIOZ GROUP, we design and deliver advanced industrial PCs and PLCs tailored precisely to the real needs of machine builders and system integrators. Our approach is based on long-term industrial responsibility: no unnecessary complexity, no forced obsolescence, and no oversized hardware. Only reliable, durable, and sustainable industrial control systems, designed to perform consistently over time.

This philosophy is the foundation of our ESG-aligned Sustainability Plan 2026–2028, a strategic roadmap that structures how we design products, organize operations, develop people, and contribute responsibly to the industrial ecosystem.

Tailored Industrial Control Systems, Not Standard Products

Every machine is different. Every industrial process has its own logic, constraints, and lifecycle requirements. That is why BASQUE AUTOMATION does not work with generic, one-size-fits-all solutions.

Our controllers are designed application by application, manufacturing exactly what each machine requires:

  • The necessary computing power — no more, no less
  • The exact number of inputs and outputs, avoiding overdimensioning
  • Compatibility with open standards such as IEC 61131-3 and CODESYS
  • Independence from proprietary software lock-in and forced brand dependency

This approach protects our customers’ know-how, reduces long-term operational and replacement costs, and ensures technological continuity for decades. Sustainability, in our case, begins with correct engineering decisions.

Designed with People in Mind

Industrial technology is ultimately used, maintained, repaired, and evolved by people. For this reason, our systems are designed not only for performance, but also for usability, maintainability, and clarity.

Our industrial PCs and PLCs are conceived to:

  • Simplify interaction between operators and machines
  • Facilitate maintenance, repair, and retrofitting
  • Reduce dependency on specific brands or closed ecosystems
  • Enable internal knowledge transfer within customer teams

Good engineering is not only about speed or power. It is about making technology understandable, robust, and sustainable for the people who rely on it every day.

FACTs, Not Just Words: The F.A.C.T. Industrial Ecosystem

The best way to understand a company is not through slogans, but through facts.

Our activity takes place within F.A.C.T. – Francisco Aristeguieta Urgoiti Technology Center, a Net Zero–oriented industrial ecosystem where sustainability is not an add-on, but a design principle.

At F.A.C.T.:

  • Sustainability starts at the product design phase
  • Repair is prioritized over replacement
  • Circular economy principles are applied to the hardware lifecycle
  • Energy efficiency, material optimization, and long-term durability are measurable realities

This environment directly shapes how we think, design, manufacture, and support industrial control systems. It also provides a coherent framework for our ESG strategy.

ESG Commitment: Sustainability Plan 2026–2028

In 2025, BASQUE AUTOMATION formally validated its Sustainability Plan 2026–2028, fully integrated within the strategic vision of LARRAIOZ GROUP and aligned with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles.

The plan is structured around a clear and measurable framework that addresses:

Environmental (E)

  • Reduction of electronic waste through long-life controllers
  • Avoidance of overdimensioned hardware and unnecessary components
  • Extension of machine and system lifecycles through repair and retrofitting
  • Net Zero operational approach at the F.A.C.T. center

Social (S)

  • Commitment to local, qualified employment
  • Continuous talent development and technical mentoring
  • Knowledge transfer across generations
  • Strong links with the regional industrial and educational ecosystem

Governance (G)

  • Ethical and transparent technological decision-making
  • Responsible innovation and long-term industrial vision
  • Active participation in industrial clusters such as INDEUS and ROBOTEKIN
  • Alignment with best practices in ESG governance and accountability

For us, sustainability is not about compensating impact after the fact — it is about not generating unnecessary impact in the first place.

Leadership and Responsibility: Ainhoa Maiztegui

The development and coordination of the Sustainability Plan 2026–2028 is led by Ainhoa Maiztegui, Director of Technological Strategy and ESG Analyst at LARRAIOZ GROUP.

Her role is key in ensuring that sustainability is not treated as a parallel or isolated initiative, but as a core strategic axis integrated into:

  • Product design and technological decisions
  • Industrial processes and lifecycle management
  • ESG analysis, indicators, and continuous improvement
  • Alignment between sustainability objectives and real industrial practice

Ainhoa’s work bridges technology, strategy, and ESG criteria, ensuring coherence between innovation, responsibility, and long-term industrial viability. Under her coordination, sustainability becomes a measurable, defendable, and operational reality, not a marketing statement.

Institutional Support and Collaboration

The development of the Sustainability Plan 2026–2028 has been strengthened thanks to the support and collaboration of Gipuzkoa and the Cámara de Gipuzkoa, whose guidance and expertise have been instrumental throughout the process.

Their contribution has helped structure the plan in line with recognized ESG frameworks, reinforce governance practices, and ensure that sustainability is approached with rigor, credibility, and long-term vision. This collaboration reflects the importance of strong public–private partnerships in building a competitive, responsible, and future-ready industrial ecosystem.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Gipuzkoa and the Cámara de Gipuzkoa for their commitment and support in the development of this strategic plan.
