Francisco Aristeguieta Urgoiti
Donostia, February 26, 1922 – Madrid, January 24, 2010.

One of the driving forces behind the creation of the National Technological University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, he taught at the Luis A. Huergo Industrial Institute, designed the Electronics course at Ceac distance academies, and wrote books on various topics.

He always awakened, in those of us who were lucky enough to know him, the eagerness for knowledge and creative thinking open to the future. With the desire to keep his memory alive, for his dedication and immense contribution to our professional and personal growth, for the achievements, the teachings and all the moments shared, in tribute to the one who dedicated his life to the education of young people, it is the intention of Larraioz Elektronika and the team that comprises it to permanently capture his name in its new facilities, Francisco Aristeguieta Technological Center.



In 2013, Larraioz Elektronica, predecessor of Basque Automation, increases its production and service capacity with its new facilities in the F.A.C.T. building. This 3000m2 building has been designed with energy efficiency criteria and is equipped with the latest technological advances in home automation and security. The F.A.C.T. It is located in the municipality of Aia, at kilometer 2.2 of the Zarautz – Urdaneta highway and just one kilometer from the Abendaño Industrial Estate, in Zarautz. Very well connected by road, the facilities are located in a privileged natural environment, between mountains and sea.

Thanks to the ecological awareness of the Larraioz Elektronika team, the entire building and the rest of the surrounding environment has been designed with the most demanding criteria in energy efficiency and environmental protection.

The main floors, each measuring 1000m2, are open spaces, without heavy divisions inside. The large glass surfaces, more than 50% of the façade surface, with glass with solar control and high thermal insulation, guarantee excellent luminosity in the workplaces of the different departments for practically all working hours, even in winter, without the need for artificial lighting. The rest of the surface is built with a ventilated façade made of ceramic material that provides the highest degree of efficiency in the correct thermal adjustment of the interior. The renewal of the interior air is carried out by non-forced cross ventilation between the different open spaces between the North-South and East-West façade, there is no installation of expensive and inefficient air conditioning and forced ventilation systems but rather by clean and natural air currents from the mountains and the sea. The heating system is carried out using underfloor heating and gas boilers, one of the air conditioning systems with the lowest energy and environmental bill on the market. The entire lighting system, both interior and exterior, is low consumption and high efficiency.

The building's intelligence is managed through MIPC control equipment designed and manufactured by Larraioz Elektronika. The proprietary software, created internally in the company, allows us to reach levels of integration that are difficult to achieve with standard commercial products on the market. Multiple pieces of equipment in complete redundancy for greater security monitor, collect, interpret and act to achieve, depending on occupancy and uses, the highest levels of efficiency in lighting, heating, energy consumption, access and security, among others.

The F.A.C.T facilities are complemented by 6 hectares of forest plantations of different species, both deciduous and evergreen, that surround the main building, pines, oaks, beeches, cork oaks, walnuts, chestnuts, apple trees, cherry trees, etc. Larraioz Elektronika does not carry out economic exploitation of the forest resources available to it, it is a contribution to the reduction of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, it compensates by absorbing more than more CO2 emissions than the that it generates with its energy consumption of electricity, gas and fuel when traveling by vehicle of personnel to their jobs.
